- Finish a draft of the Edgar Allan Poe trading card and share it with your teacher by the end of the day today. If you want to earn EXTRA CREDIT, revise your trading card to include the vocab words we have been learning: acute, audacity, conceive, crevice, derision, hypocritical, stealthily, stifled, vehemently, and vex. You can do this even if you already submitted a draft. Just resend your updated draft when it's complete.

- Continue project: "The Elevator" Plot Mini Book by creating a rough draft of your story using the storyboard in the project document. You can also start drawing rough sketches of the images you want to include in your notebook.
- Check your story to make sure it flows by reading it aloud to yourself once and then reading it aloud to a partner. Make adjustments to your ideas as needed.
- Read, read, read! We're halfway through the quarter, so you should be finishing a book soon if you haven't already finished one. Next week, Ms. Delaney and I will begin explaining your first independent book project.
